As your local guide I know what city to head to, where to ride, what trail to take, the best bike route, and more. If you want to take a bike tour to the local coffee shop, small bakery, or just enjoy the beach or city views, I know the way to make your bike tour the best you have ever had. With unlimited biking options your San Diego guided bicycle ride will be one of the most enjoyable things you do in San Diego. Need a bike shop, we recommend Cadence Cyclery Encinitas.

Guided Bicycle Rides on Gravel Bikes

Gravel bike trails in San Diego may be a bit different than you are used to. In the city areas our gravel bike trails are more urban, and we can link gravel sections by riding on the road. We do have a few larger bike trail sections that do not include the road, but we will need to drive to the trailhead to explore these. If you don’t mind a bit of a drive and you are prepared for some steep punchy climbs, we can hit the dirt. I recommend fat-gravel tires of at least 45 mm or larger and a large cassette with a minimum 46, with a 52 being optimal so that you can pedal up our sometimes loose and steep trails.

Coffee and Lunch Stops on Guided Bicycle Rides

All road bike tours include a coffee or lunch stop, or both if you like. Gravel bike rides typically do not include a coffee stop because there are no services on many of the bike trails. However, we can always hit up one of our excellent lunch stops after the guided bike ride. San Diego is known for our local taco shacks and since I love a great street taco or California burrito, I can direct us to something you just will not get back at home. If you do not love tacos and burritos, I have a secret list of other places we can hit, but come on, this is Mexican food paradise!
